PNGC Power Board of Directors Elects New Chair
New executive elected to lead organization with customers in six Western states
Portland, Ore. - 05/14/2003 - The PNGC Power Board of Directors, a Portland-based wholesale electric power cooperative, has elected Roger Meader Chairman of the Board. He is the General Manager of Okanogan County Electric Cooperative, Winthrop, Washington and replaces LaNea Holt, Manager of Lost River Electric Cooperative, Mackay, Idaho who is retiring this month.
Meader moves up from the Secretary/Treasurer position he previously held with the board. Dee Reynolds, General Manager, Fall River Rural Electric Cooperative, Ashton, Idaho, was elected to replace Meader as Secretary/Treasurer. Al Gonzalez, President and CEO of Central Electric Cooperative, Redmond, Oregon, will remain in his current role as Vice Chair of the PNGC Power Board of Directors. The new Board positions are effective May 14. Term of office is one year.
"As we look forward, our two biggest challenges are grappling with increasing wholesale electricity rates and comprehensive resource planning on behalf of the customers in six western states represented by our 15 members," said Meader. "I am pleased to work with the PNGC Power Board of Directors in this capacity."

Meader, a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Washington, is currently a director on the board of the Washington Rural Electric Cooperative Association Board and sits on the Ruralite Services, Inc. board. He is a member of the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Winthrop Kiwanis and a member of the Technology Advisory Committee at Liberty Bell High School in Winthrop. A graduate of Washington State University, Pullman, Meader holds a degree in electrical engineering. He completed the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association's Management Internship program at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska.
