PNGC Power Hires Government Affairs Manager
Portland, Oregon - 02/18/2004 - PNGC Power, a Portland-based wholesale electric power cooperative, has hired Kevin Banister as manager of Government Affairs and Special Projects. In this role, Banister will advocate on behalf of the organization regarding natural resource issues as well as many aspects of government affairs, including regulatory and other policy-related issues.
"Banister is a valuable addition to our management team," said Scott Corwin, PNGC Power vice president of Public Affairs and Marketing. "He brings a high level of intellectual inquiry and fits our business well from a values perspective. Banister was PNGC Power's Communications manager prior to graduate school; and he spent three years with United Way of the Columbia-Willamette working as senior manager for Resource Development. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics, London, England, with a master's degree in local economic development and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara, California in communications and cultural anthropology.
