Margaret Ryan, an eight-year employee, effective in leadership
Portland, OR - 10/10/2006 - Margaret Ryan has been named the fifth annual Paul M. Vickery Award recipient for Outstanding Professional Service by employer, PNGC Power. Ryan, Manager of Real Time Operations, oversees the Real Time power scheduling function on behalf of the company’s 15 rural electric cooperative member-owners, who have service territory in seven western states. She manages a team of five, who represent the 24/7 power scheduling capability of the company, with a focus on fostering a healthy work environment.
"Margaret is a very dedicated employee with a can-do attitude," said PNGC Power Senior Vice President of Power Supply, John Prescott. "She is very flexible, has an innate sense of leadership and understands working with teams."
The former employee, for whom the award is named, Paul Vickery, lost his life in a car accident five years ago. This annual employee award is meant to honor his memory by recognizing an employee whose work in the previous year has strongly reflected a commitment to excellence, high professional standards and support for the overall success of the organization.
