PNGC Power Names Dan James Vice President Focus to be on providing leadership with legislative and regulatory affairs
Portland, Oregon - 05/03/2007 - PNGC Power, a Portland-based power services cooperative, has named Dan James to be Vice President of Public Affairs & Marketing. In this role, James will be responsible for overseeing activity related to developing and implementing leadership in the area of legislative and regulatory affairs for PNGC Power’s members, 15 Northwest electric distribution cooperative utilities with service territory in seven western states. James will be responsible for managing national and regional affairs, including the company’s role in fish and wildlife policy, marketing and communications.

"Dan James brings a wealth of experience in regional issues and political management and is well-respected in the region," said PNGC Power President and CEO, John Prescott. "He will bring these resources to bear on behalf of PNGC to provide leadership in the policy arena for our member cooperatives. Dan adds strength and depth to the process of developing opportunities for PNGC Power."

James replaces Scott Corwin who recently was named the Public Power Council’s Executive Director. Corwin was with PNGC since 1999 and held the Vice President position since 2002.

James has worked in government affairs in Washington, D.C. and the Pacific Northwest for over twenty years. He comes to PNGC Power from Ball Janik LLP, where he is currently a Senior Government Relations Specialist. Prior to joining Ball Janik, he represented the Pacific Northwest Waterways Association (PNWA) as the Federal Affairs representative, a position he established. He began his career by serving on the Washington, D.C. staff of former Representative Les AuCoin (D-OR), followed by work in development and public affairs at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Pacific University, Forest Grove, Oregon.
