Portland, OR - 11/10/2010 -

Doug Brawley has been named the ninth annual Paul M. Vickery Award recipient for Outstanding Professional Service by his employer, PNGC Power.  Brawley, Senior Vice President of BPA Supply & Member Rates, oversees all aspects of wholesale power rates and conservation / energy efficiency for member cooperatives.  PNGC Power is owned by 16 rural electric cooperatives who serve about 171,000 customers in seven western states.  Brawley has been with PNGC Power for 13 years and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Washington.

“I believe Doug personifies the spirit of the award due to his unfailing can-do attitude, focus, and willingness to take on new tasks and to forge creative solutions,” said PNGC Power President and CEO, John Prescott.  “He leads by serving our member cooperatives.”

The former employee, for whom the award is named, Paul Vickery, lost his life in a car accident 10 years ago.  This annual employee award is meant to honor his memory by recognizing an employee whose work in the previous year has strongly reflected a commitment to excellence, high professional standards and support for the overall success of the organization.
