Michael Peterson, Chief Financial Officer, serves as principal financial advisor to PNGC and its 25 Member Cooperatives, overseeing the build-out of PNGC’s balance sheet in support of Member power generation needs exceeding $1 billion. He is focused on maintaining the 50-year-old cooperative’s financial flexibility, pristine credit profile, and sector-leading efficiency while leading a doubling of the cooperative’s near-term revenues. 

Peterson brings nearly 3 decades of energy and financial experience to PNGC Power, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer for the US Department of Energy’s Western Area Power Administration. Prior to serving as CFO to government/non-profit, private equity backed, and publicly listed enterprises, he worked in energy investment banking and as a commodities trader. 

Peterson holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science in Financial Markets and Trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Denver.
