JOE
We need to defend and maintain our rights as a Joint Operating Entity (JOE). As a Joint Operating Entity (JOE), PNGC Power brings the collective strength of its member cooperatives together to create greater value than any one utility could achieve alone. By aggregating member loads and resources, PNGC can optimize power supply, manage risk, pursue diverse generation opportunities, and leverage economies of scale while maintaining the flexibility to meet individual member needs. This collaborative approach strengthens PNGC’s purchasing power, expands access to resources and expertise, and helps ensure reliable, affordable power for the communities our members serve.
RDP
We must execute and update our Resource Development Plan (RDP) with a preference for baseload, dispatchable resources. PNGC Power is taking a pro-active approach to resource development and leading the region. Right now we are working on a natural gas plant in Idaho that will not only help PNGC’s members, but the region as a whole. We are also developing solar and battery opportunities for our members that will directly benefit their local communities and continue PNGC Power’s legacy of renewable energy.
BPA
We must continue to work with BPA and their products and services as we create a diverse power portfolio that is clean, affordable, and reliable. PNGC Power relies on BPA and the Federal Hydropower System as the backbone of the region and our energy portfolio. As our cooperatives and communities continue to grow, PNGC Power will continue to augment what the BPA system is able to provide.
