Portland, Oregon (April 11, 2022) – PNGC Power (PNGC), an Oregon-based generation and transmission (G&T) cooperative, and PNGC’s other existing fifteen rural electric cooperative members, officially welcome Montana-based Flathead Electric Cooperative (Flathead) as PNGC’s newest member.
Distribution cooperatives like Flathead Electric deliver electricity to the end consumer. Generation and transmission cooperatives (G&Ts) generate or acquire and transmit electricity to distribution co-ops.

Based in Kalispell, Montana, Flathead Electric Cooperative serves over 71,600 meters in Northwest Montana and had a system annual peak of 359,095 kW in 2021 (the most recent year with complete data). Flathead is PNGC’s third Montana-based electric cooperative, Montana’s largest electric cooperative, and will be PNGC’s largest member.
